The most known record label in dance music
As Spinnin’ Records has become the most known record label in current dance music, so has its highly popular radio show Spinnin’ Sessions grown to become a leading tastemaker for the international dance crowds. Launched in 2013 it quickly gathered a dedicated group of listeners, by now amassing into the millions every episode.
Which isn’t something out of the blue. From the start, Spinnin’ Sessions has been about new and upcoming records, often non-released material, brought by the biggest artists out there. Hosted by Matt Thiel, the weekly radio show takes you through all the upfront sounds that are currently making waves on the worldwide stages, underlining its leading function with every new edition.
The first part is all about this; for thirty minutes all the best new releases in dance music get highlighted, ranging from deep and tropical house to electro and progressive. The second part of Spinnin’ Sessions is traditionally reserved for a guest mix, in which a well-known artist gets to play whatever he/she wants for thirty minutes. By now major DJs like Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens, Avicii, Diplo, Afrojack, Sander van Doorn, W&W, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, DVBBS and Martin Solveig have featured here, the list of guests only keeps on growing.
So does the radio show’s fanbase, which gains followers every week. With the success of Spinnin’ Sessions, the concept has also been taken on the road, hosting same named and sold-out events at the WMC in Miami and Amsterdam Dance Event. Here, DJs like Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Quintino and Firebeatz have all done raving performances, taking the name Spinnin’ Sessions to new heights.
By all means, it’s the best promotion a radio show could wish for. With the amount of listeners increasing, the music remaining up to date as ever and live events enhancing the Spinnin’ Sessions status, things are only going to get bigger & bolder.
